LAST PURE LAND ON EARTH, ANTARCTIC FORUM SET SAIL IN NOVEMBER

2013 Antarctic Forum and its series events are launching in the coming November. The 2013 Antarctic Forum Partnership Luncheon was held by the forum preparatory committee in Hong Kong Antarctic Forum is initiate by China International Culture Exchange Center and the People’s Daily Hong Kong Bureau , jointly working with relevant international and local organizations including International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources , Columbia University, City University of Hong Kong, Phoenix TV, Ta Kung Bao News, Zijin Magazine, China Daily Apec Bureau and Asia Pacific Daily ,will gather 200 leaders and elites from ideology, politics, culture, science, religion, sports, arts and finance and business. The official sailing will be set on November 22^nd 2013.

        The 2013 Antarctic Forum Partnership Luncheon was held by the forum preparatory committee in Hong Kong on August 9^th. Mr. Cao Hongliang, Director of People’s Daily Hong Kong Bureau; Mr. Cai Yutian, Executive Secretary General of Antarctic Forum;  Mr. Huang, Naihua, Vice President of Antarctic Committee company; Mr. Kuo, Way , Director of City University of Hong Kong; Mr. Jiang, Zaizhong, President of Hong Kong Federation of Journalists, Director of Ta Kung Bao; Mr. Ju, Mengjun , Director of Xinhua News Agency Asia Pacific region; Mr. Liu Weizhong, Director of Zijin Magazine; Mr. Xu, Yuenai, Director of New Media Department of Xinhua News Agency Asia Pacific region; Mr. Sheng, Yiping, General Manager of Ta Kung Ba; Ms. Cheung, Yongya, Administrative Executive of Chinese Enterprise Credit Association (Overseas); Ms. Wang, Duoduo, Director of Public Relations; Ms. Li, Weilin, Chief Operating Officer in Hong Kong of China Tourism; Ms. Chen Huirong ,Director of Ads. Dept. of Xinhua News Agency Asia Pacific region attended the luncheon. Ms Wu, Jianfang , Vice Secretary General of Antarctic Forum and Mr. Xiong, Hansheng , the Standing Committee member of the CPPCC of Hubei Province and other guests also attended the meeting.

Mr. Yip from Antarctic Forum Secretariat started the luncheon with the introduction of the main goal and the current preparatory work done of the forum so far. He said the mission of Antarctic Forum is to devote ourselves to make a positive impact on the value conceptions of Chinese and international elites. The theme of this year’s event is “Common Interests and Common Responsibilities” .The objectives of the Forum are to reflect on human civilization, focus on the Earth’s environment, boost balanced development and realize common values.

There will be an international conference call connecting Antarctic Forum and other well established international institutions and prime organizations when sailing in Antarctic. It will be hosted in America, Europe and Antarctica at the same time through satellite video calls. Besides, quite a few lectures, reports and conversational sessions will be made on this ‘Antarctic Expedition’ ‘Antarctic Forum Joint Declarations’ will be presented during the expedition. Besides, an Antarctic themed concert will be presented by prestigious vocalists and featured by Asian-Pacific Symphony Orchestra .It will be performed at the Paradise Harbor of Antarctica and the Great-Wall Station China.Prime television and press media as well as internet media will participate and follow up the whole process.

Mr. Cao from People’s Daily Hong Kong Bureau talked about his very first hand experience in Antarctica in the February Advance Group of Antarctica Forum. Other representatives from forum partner organizations also talked about their expectations. The luncheon is a symbolized initiation of the Expedition to Antarctica and other related event of the coming November.
